Why we started on Odengatan
Joyful Nesting Closets began after years of helping friends rework awkward bedroom niches in Vasastan and Södermalm. Ready-made systems left gaps at the ceiling; pure custom carpentry ran past most budgets. We found a middle path: measured carcasses, thoughtful internals, and fronts that feel like proper joinery.
Our studio address at Odengatan 65 puts us near the residential streets where most of our work lives — short tram hops to site visits, samples under natural light, and drawings pinned beside fabric swatches.
How we think about wardrobes
A closet is a daily tool. We ask how many coats hang from November to March, whether shoes live by the door or under the bed, and whether a partner needs a separate hanging zone. Those answers shape drawer counts and rod heights more than mood boards ever could.
We favour calm surfaces — soft gold hardware accents against navy sample boards in our studio — and layouts that stay useful when life changes: a nursery becoming a teen room, or a home office reclaiming a spare wardrobe bay.
Between flat-pack and full joinery
What we borrow from systems
Adjustable hanging, modular drawer boxes, and clear price bands — the honesty of a catalogue, without forcing every wall into a 40 cm grid.
What we keep custom
Filler panels for uneven plaster, taller doors for high ceilings, and entry benches sized to your hall — details IKEA-adjacent kits rarely solve cleanly.
Who we work with
Young households in Södermalm needing better bedroom storage, Östermalm renovators refreshing walk-ins, and families across Stockholm who want kids’ wardrobes that survive growth spurts. We also advise landlords preparing flats for new tenants — durable finishes, simple hardware, clear hanging zones.
Studio days
Visits by appointment. Bring floor plans if you have them; if not, we measure on site. Consultations are billed in SEK and credited toward packages when you proceed within three months.
Arrange a visitWhat we do not do
We do not sell freestanding furniture, kitchen cabinetry, or whole-apartment renovations. Our focus stays on wardrobe systems, entry storage, and the finishes that make them last in Stockholm’s climate and building stock.
